Live Mesh won’t sync Microsoft Expression Web “site”?

Windows-Live-Mesh

I have work on multiple Windows devices. I've found Windows Live Mesh to be the best tool to keep files synced between these machines. The key advantage it has over other similar tools like Dropbox is that it can sync solely over p2p. So, I can keep my massive files synced without having to go through the excruciating pain of waiting to have such files upload to the cloud.

Yesterday, I created a new Microsoft Expression Web "site" folder as a sub folder in one of the folders synced by Live Mesh. Later I found that the folder isn't being synced between my computers. It wasn't really obvious why but, after much searching, I found the reason. Expression Web is marking the folder as a "System" folder [Why does it do that? Just to make sure it gets to change the folder icon :) ]

Dialog Axiata – MMS and HSPA Settings for Android

wpid-SC20110927-075215.png

I'm not shy to say this but, when I got my first Android phone (Smasung Galaxy S), it changed my life. I was never a "phone person". I've always gone for phones that gave me the bare minimum and never saw the value in dishing out big cash to the high end Nokias and Blackberrys of the day. All I looked for was a high res display, decent reception, sound quality and of course smilies on text messages :D . Hardly anybody called me anyway. So, it was never worth the money to buy a phone that I didn't care to pick up.

Hey HP, TX stylus melted in my hand

image

Well, I'll cut them some slack this time. It really isn't the build quality of the stylus. It's been melting away in that furnace of a machine for four years. Something had to give.

My Samsung Galaxy S Home Screens

SC20110423-192249_thumb.png

I’ve had my Samsung Galaxy S GT-I90000 for a while now. The default iPhony look bothered me so much that I had been looking for an alternative look since the day I got it. One of my greatest inspirations have been the cool screens posted at XDA forums.

So, after couple of months of looking around, I finally threw together some screens that seemed to look decent.

Here goes:

The unfelt need for IT and the Path of Highest Resistance

image_thumb_1

Last week I had the chance to sit in during a discussion one of my friends had with a eminent researcher. My friend, an experienced Software Project Manager and a founder of a IT based startup, was building his case on what he believed was the reason for the lack of IT adaptation amongst the local SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).

“The reason why Sri Lankan SME’s don’t use IT in their business is a lack of awareness rather than a lack of funds. It’s not that the price of IT solutions are expensive, it’s matter of SME’s being ignorant of the value addition these solutions can bring to the table.”

The researcher, whole heartedly disagreed:

Refactoring with NDepend (1 of N)

Built-in CQL Queries

Almost for the last 2 years, I’ve been working on a substantially large and complex project. And like in any long haul project, some areas of the project’s code has been developing their own distinct smell. Much of the project is in good condition however, thanks mostly to my OCD. But, there’s this one library of code that’s been haunting me in my dreams, begging me to refactor it out of it’s misery. Then again, this is working code…
